The Prisms of Reconciliation
2020-05-14
If a coach can get one or more parties in conflict to take a brief timeout to view the conflict from Jesus' vantage point, there is hope to re-frame the conflict into something more profound. Here is the advantage of conflict in the larger picture: When someone can see their conflict as a high-speed on ramp onto God’s story, it is a game changer.

Replacing Trepidation in the Reconciler when Working with Conflicted Parties
2020-08-01
All ambassadors have a certain level of feeling trepidation when working with conflicted parties. This workshop will describe what is happening with your emotions and how to manage your emotions so that you can be available to those needing your sense of peace and calm. We'll explore the issues of transference and counter transference and describe simple processes to keep you out of the weeds and on the clear path of compassionate reconciliation. Prepare for this session by watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J6B00d-8lw which discusses the brain's sense of fear/threat of danger. This session will address what someone else's sense of danger does to subvert relational currency/rapport/"passport" and how the Word of God effects this intersection for the conflicted and the reconciler. This session will also define the terms crisis, trauma, and emotional/relational competency in relation to contracting the reconciliation process with conflicted parties.

Practically using Jesus' Death, Burial and Resurrection to Resolve Conflict
2020-08-04
Did you know that when the Bible defines the Gospel, it defines it as Jesus’ Death Burial and Resurrection? (1 Cor 15:1-4). Passing over the definition of the Gospel as ‘good news’ leaves a lot of practical tools in resolving conflict on the table. Come investigate with us the depth of God’s DNA in resolving conflict as demonstrated by the greatest reconciliation act ever accomplished.

The Most Important Thing a Conciliator Brings into a Mediation or Conflict Coaching Engagement?!
2020-08-11
What would you name in response to this title? The conciliator's experience, their Biblical knowledge, their emotional intelligence, their passion for the gospel, their courage, their resilience, their Spiritual gift of knowledge or insight, their prayerfulness or something else? In this highly interactive session, we will have a poll and then we will have the discussion! In the first part of this seminar we will have the opportunity to share what we personally believe is the answer to the question (spoiler #1 - we may not agree there's a single clear winner!). In the second half of the seminar, Bruce will share what his personal answer to the question is, and why (spoiler #2 - it's NOT in the list above). Through this seminar, you will be encouraged through the considered reflections of other biblical conciliators to review your own practice, and what elements you may wish to pray into, work on and grow, in order to be better used by God in the peacemaking work which you do.

Coaching Through Questions
2020-08-12
The goal of coaching people in conflict is to bring them face-to-face with Jesus rather than with the coach. Strategic, targeted questions engage the party to articulate the problem[s], identifies the problems in spiritual terms, brings specific and appropriate Scripture passages to the party, and lavishly applies the Gospel for healing, comfort, encouragement, and direction. This workshop will benefit all who coach people in either formal or informal settings by keeping the focus on the spiritual nature and consequences of conflicts and by keeping the Gospel as the central message of healing and hope.
