Welcome to Mediating People to Reconcile.


This course is organized to help you learn the mediation process one step at a time and then practice what you are learning.

Use the lesson list to move between lessons. Use the section list to move within the selected lesson. The best way to continue is to use the Continue Course button, which will take you to the next section that still needs your attention.


Course materials are available from the Course Materials button near the top of the page. Keep these resources close as you work through the course. You will use the practicum manual, case studies, mediation checklists, coaching resources, and agreement templates throughout the lessons.


Each lesson follows a repeated rhythm:

  • Learn: receive the teaching for that section.

  • Observe: watch a demonstration or example and notice how mediation skills are modeled.

  • Practice: try the skill through a guided exercise or roleplay.

  • Apply: connect the teaching to your own life, ministry, or mediation context.

  • Discuss: reflect on the material and raise questions for further learning.

  • Demonstrate Competency: show that you can use the skills with faithfulness, impartiality, and care.


You do not need to master the entire mediation process at once. Move through the course patiently, use the opportunities to practice and receive feedback, and allow each lesson to build toward conducting a complete mediation.
