Reconciliation Weekends

Personal reconciliation is powerful, but what about communal reconciliation? What would it look like to see racial and ethnic groups experience real reconciliation in our world, and how can Christ’s church lead the way? In this engaging session, Markus will walk participants through the biblical narrative to discover how diversity and racial reconciliation have been integral to God’s mission for the world and our lives from the very beginning.

This is part of a four-lesson workshop on reconciling relationships and resolving conflict. In this power-packed presentation, you will see how God’s ministry of reconciliation is meant to be lived out in your daily life. You’ll learn practical ways to apply your Christian faith in family, business, church, and legal conflicts. Forgiveness matters – all the time and in all relationships. It is entirely a God-given dynamic that is essential for Him to have a relationship with us, and us with each other. Said another way, we can have no relationship with Him without His forgiveness – or with each other without His forgiveness being a central and powerful dynamic among us.

The title for this keynote will be "Remembering Who We Really are in Christ". The problem in conflict is that we forget who we are in Christ and our old self (Eph 4) steps to the forefront with all its selfish desires and strategems. Rick is an experienced peacemaker having been in this field for over 29 years.

As conciliators we believe that God is at work to change hearts and produce the result of any conciliation while using conciliators as his instruments in this work. As these “instruments” are we prepared for surprises and pitfalls that can occur in a mediation? We will identify surprises and pitfalls often experienced and discuss how to prepare for and to respond to them when they occur.
