Yesterday, we looked at the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation and how our common use of these rules binds us together as a community. Another document binding us together is a mutual commitment to adhering to the Standard of Conduct for Christian Conciliators. A benefit of our being in community is the accountability it brings.
Accountability in Christian love is our opportunity to live out Galatians 6:1-2 in our community of reconcilers:
"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
This has long been a cornerstone of the Institute for Christian Conciliation. Now that ICC's Certified Christian Conciliatorsâ„¢ are joining AoR's Christian Reconcilerâ„¢ program, Accountability and Transparency are even more prominent. Check out how our community commits to being accountable to one another:
All Christian Reconcilersâ„¢ and Certified Christian Conciliatorsâ„¢ commit to adhere to the ICC Standard of Conduct for Christian Conciliators outlining our responsibility to God, to parties and to others.
They further agree to submit to Ambassadors of Reconciliation's Grievance Procedures outlining an accountability process if the standard of conduct is reportedly violated.
They further agree to serve as a Grievance Officer in accord with this Grievance Procedure if selected by blind draw, thus participating in the accountability process.
They are included in a public online directory. Conciliators may optionally show a feedback summary on their public profile to demonstrate client satisfaction.
Anyone can submit feedback for a conciliator via a conciliator's online profile.
Conciliators commit to routinely requesting feedback from clients they serve in an effort to continuously improve.
Christian Reconcilers with a Professional Membership are able to view all feedback submitted for any reconciler; making this feedback very transparent among our community.
Finally, all conciliators agree their status as Christian Reconcilerâ„¢ or Certified Christian Conciliatorâ„¢ is at the sole discretion of Ambassadors of Reconciliation.
We pray this accountability and transparency will lead to confidence among our clients and one another as we carry on this mission together.
