A new Christ oriented culture may be created where the two most important commandments can be something in which Board members continue to grow.

The main benefit (just in terms of documents) is questions and inquiries could be addressed to the creator of the document and have clarification/corrections prior to the meeting. All the listed documents in the question could be placed in a Consent Agenda (explained earlier) and put into the minutes in less than a minute. Then the Board could get down to doing God’s business in the meeting, which would include a better devotions and study of God's Word.

Opening devotion with member involvement, consent agenda with assurance members read them (remind that that unresolved questions prior to the meeting can have item(s) removed for discussion), there would be no reports necessary except review of member visits and new business items. Closing would be reminded--in prayer how what we have just done is God's work. (This was the short version)

Former church had no opening devotion--with no Pastor involvement in any spiritual actions. Current congregation requested a shorter opening devotion (a 5 minutes for Jesus moment). Everything else about the same--the church was made into an ordinary organization (bowling league management group--of course with words like chairman, lane manager report, maintenance schedule, beer)

Remember to pray for guidance, continue to be in the Word, and be sure there is a clear spiritual intent in my actions.

It has been so long I forgot what I was looking for! I think without the repeated items, most were (helpful human/Christian behaviors) but were non-spiritual activities. Not unlike our "fellowship activities that are not evangalism".

Philippians 4:6 Relax and pray. Then pray some more. Rejoice that God has called you.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 God about doing God's work without "putting on an ugly fasting face" so everyone knows.
James 5:16 Remember we are all children of God--equal in His eyes, so support, comfort, remind others of what can/should be done

Joshua 1:8 Remember what God expects of us and how we are not always able to do those things. Be gracious
Acts 2:42 Continue on continuing on...with prayer, prayer, and more prayer
Colossians 3:16 Be kind and gentle with God's creation because He is not finished with them yet...either!
