I forget it is not "me" but the Spirit that is doing the work, they enjoy God's blessings more than attending worship, they want to have a "Give 5 minutes for Jesus" rather than a substantive devotion for meetings, ...that's enough!

speech is covered in the Second Commandment by not cursing/swearing, lying, or deceiving and the converse is pray, praise, and giving thanks; the Eighth Commandment tells us more: not to slander, betray, or hurt the reputation of our neighbor and the converse is to defend, speak well, explain everything in the most gentle way

Acts 6:2-4 Lay Leader: those with good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom
1 Timothy 3:1-7 Pastor: [HE must be] above reproach, the husband of one wife (or a man of one woman), sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money, must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, must not be a recent convert, not prone to becoming puffed up with conceit, must be well thought of by outsiders
1 Timothy 3:8:13 Lay Leader: [referenced as male] must be dignified, not double-tongued or devious in speech, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience, tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives [or women] likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. ->Interesting that there will be growth=For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus

The Director of Elders performs the annual evaluation of the senior pastor. The senior pastor performs annual evaluations of the associate pastor and church staff. I recall they cover all seven items of importance. Evaluations should be written with attention to details of specific performance of the worker; not broad generalities. Reinforce the actions that are exceeding expectations; discuss items that need improvement; and ask about ways to assist the worker to perform more effectively.

Be thankful as we teach and admonish one another as members of the body of Christ. Participate in worship and have a servant's heart in supporting the worship service as elders, lectors and encouragement of pastors, church workers and members.

Elders and leadership have the primary responsibility to care for the pastors and families. All members should care for church workers as they are the body of Christ.

We should prevent placing barriers in the way of our Pastors and church workers; instead respect them and admonish them and hold them in highest regard. Help them when help is needed; support them and encourage them in their duty to serve the Lord.
